Huntingdonshire Club Champions 2026

What a year for Papworth Bowls Club 2026 was! The Huntingdon and District Bowls League has been running for 70 years with 17 local clubs taking part over 3 divisions. From Buckden and St Neots in the South to Ramsey, Sawtry and Warboys in the North, Papworth Bowls Club has 2 mens teams, Papworth A playing in Division 1 and Papworth B in Division 2 with league matches held both home and away every Thursday from May to September. On 3 September 2026, Papworth A were crowned Huntingdonshire Club Champions for the first time in their history. A fabulous achievement considering every single player selected lives or has lived in the village – what an advertisement for home grown talent?

Papworth Bowls Club – County Champions 2026

Papworth BC also celebrated producing 2 County Champions in 2026 representing Huntingdonshire in the National Finals at Skegness in August. Harry Ward in the Blue Ribbon event – the 2 Bowl Singles and Dave Richardson in both the Secretaries Singles and the Mixed Pairs. Dave was a near, yet so far man, sadly a losing semi finalist in the Mixed Pairs with Sandra Day (Somersham BC) and losing finalist in the Secretaries Singles. Next year?

Huntingdonshire County Under 25s Bowls Team

Papworth Bowls Club has been since 2021, the home ground for English Bowls Federations (EBF) Huntongdonshires County U25s team. The U25 team, managed by Kane Phillips and captained by Callum Bowden (both Papworth A team stalwarts) became National Champions in 2026 beating Humberside at the National Finals held in Skegness.

Papworth Bowls Club welcomes new members to an established but still up and coming club that has its roots in traditional village values. We are genuinely proud of this year’s achievements and will continue to punch way above our weight in the years to come. Please join us – all equipment can be provided for new bowlers, just bring flat soled shoes.
