Parish Council Candidate

Chris Howlett

If elected to the council, I will support the opening of the paddling pool this summer and the immediate unlocking of the MUGA for informal sports and fitness use.

The way the parish council has been run recently must change.  Uncertainty, due to low numbers and cancelled or rearranged meetings, has led to bad decisions and inefficiency.

I was a member of the parish council for several years but saw such a rapid decline in the way it was operating, particularly since the end of 2024, that I resigned last September.

I am proud of what the council previously achieved, which includes the provision of 40 allotment plots in 2012, refurbishment of the village hall in 2015 and promoting and supporting a planning policy for the west side of Ermine Street that led to the opening of the new Printworks ‘community centre’.
